Affiliate Disclosure

How this independent archive is funded, and what it means when you click a product link.

GetChipGenius.com is an independent community archive. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by developer hit00, the MyDigit community, or any flash-controller manufacturer. ChipGenius itself is freeware, and the download buttons on our download page are not affiliate links: we earn nothing when you download ChipGenius.

When you see a product link

Some links on this site, including links to products on Amazon, are affiliate links. If you buy through one of those links, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases made through Amazon links on this site.

Some product links point to a manufacturer’s official product page without any tracking parameter, because no affiliate program has been confirmed for that product yet. Those links earn us nothing. We do not present them as affiliate links, and we do not claim a commission rate for them.

What does not change because of affiliate links

Our diagnostic guidance does not change: ChipGenius identifies a controller; it does not endorse a replacement drive. A product is recommended only where it is the honest answer to a specific branch of a troubleshooting decision — for example, when a drive is dead or has fake capacity and replacement is the sensible next step. Where a free tool does the job, we recommend the free tool. Where recovery should come before any repair attempt, we say so, because a low-level repair can erase the files you are trying to save.

Product names, prices, and availability change. We check product pages when a buying guide is written, but we cannot guarantee a price or stock level at the moment you click. Please check the retailer’s page before buying.
